This booklet helps teachers to create gender-inclusive learning environments by giving practical guidelines based on recent research. These guidelines are an initial proposal for teachers who could elaborate their own based on the given suggestions and recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This material addresses how to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Create a gender-neutral learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Ensure everyone gets hands-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Design learning experiences to embrace context and problem-solving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Connect learning to careers and role models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Engineer collaborative learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Provide choice and creative opportunities to demonstrate learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Encourage a growth mindset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After reading the material, teachers would be capable of composing inclusive STEAM learning environments to engage girls and women to embrace science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects and careers. Through this practice girls and women will be given equal opportunities in these areas, increasing the number of skilled workers needed for the development of technology, science and social applications of technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
