
Lesson plan scenario to develop an understanding that women and girls can make significant contributions to the world of STEAM; to report CERN’s interest in gender equality, to relate gender equality and the free choice of women to work in STEAM areas with the scientific progress in general, to relate gender equality to other forms of equal opportunities.

TEACHING PRACTICE (STEP BY STEP):
A lesson plan teaching scenario:
The participants will read first the articles and then, focusing on specific statements made by distinguished people, they will present a brief analysis of these statements.
1. Article with the title: “Take part in CERN’s Women in Technology 2022 Mentoring programme”. With this article, the participants will be aware of the efforts made by such a large organization as CERN to promote women’s activity in STEM areas.
2. Article with the title: “Diversity and Inclusion Programme of CERN”. This article includes the opinions of distinguished scientists and CERN executives about the need for diversity in science and the value of inclusion.
In the end, there will be a discussion about the ideas presented, led by the teacher.
